"Looking For Clues"
Innovative Investigations is all about information. The world we live in is a "need to know" society. Most individuals don't have the capability of obtaining vast amounts of information without a license, thus the reason for a private investigator. Today's private investigation business isn't like the Rockford Files and Magnum P.I. and they definitely don't drive a Ferrari! The investigation business is like sitting front row center in the stage of life.
Innovative Investigations is one of the only husband/wife private investigating services in Atlanta, owned by Jack & Theresa McSherry. The McSherry's have been in the investigative business for 18 years. In those 18 years, the business and laws have changed immensely. Investigation agencies are now governed by a state board, and most belong to several associations. GAPPI, for example, is the Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators, which meets once a month and has an educational forum, and is an excellent networking tool for private investigators. Private investigating agencies and their employees must complete a certain amount of continuing education units (CEU's), including ethics courses every year to retain their license just as doctors and lawyers.
Innovative Investigations has a wide variety of different types of cases. Their services are performed to the highest quality and all cases are handled with extreme confidentiality. Their client base ranges from everything imaginable, from corporate investigations to domestic/infidelity video surveillance, child custody, executive protection, insurance fraud, electronic debugging, missing persons, theft in the workplace, private & commercial video surveillance systems, finger printing, hand writing analysis, forensic identification, polygraph, database searches, plus civil and criminal investigations along with a host of other services. They're also capable of obtaining forensic evidence in stain identification i.e. underwear, used in infidelity cases. Innovative Investigations has had clients from one end of the spectrum to the other, from executive protection for a wedding with British nobility and Arab royalty, to finding missing children. Also, in domestic cases, clients are in divorce situations or child custody battles, and have their emotions constantly turned upside down. The investigator takes on the role of also a psychiatrist, pastor, lawyer and friend. On occasions, some clients think they can do surveillance on their own by following the subject- also called stalking. Stalking is a felony offense; only licensed investigators can stalk.
Female investigators can be advantageous, as they can go places where men can't. A woman can find out more in 10 minutes in the ladies room about a female subject by talking with them, than a male investigator can find out in two weeks. It has something to do with the security of a ladies room! Some clients become micro-managers of their own investigation, as they work closely with investigators on how to control their cases. Innovative Investigations finds missing loved ones, but more often ex loved ones, that owe money in child support cases.
Dual mobile surveillance is used at times on cases especially in high volume cities such as Atlanta. Following someone in Atlanta during rush hours is extremely difficult while trying to be covert. Disguises as far as costumes, wigs or multiple vehicles are used along with state of the art video technology and other professional electronic devices such as GPS tracking systems.
Innovative Investigations is capable of doing investigations nationally and world wide. They're also opening a Florida agency in the near future.
